Many types and grades of leather are used on furniture; cutting through all the confusion about which products to use is easy.

All leathers, regardless of the finish type, will fall into one of two categories:

Finished and Unfinished.
To determine whether your leather is Finished or Unfinished, take an old dish towel and get it wet. Remove a bottom cushion, lift an inside back cushion, and wipe in an inconspicuous area. If the area you wipe absorbs the water quickly and darkens, you have Unfinished leather. You should use the Leather Masters Nubuck Kit.
